WILLIAMSON, W.Va. – The Tug Valley Chamber of Commerce is asking for sponsors for the Fifth Annual Coal Dust Run.
The run will be held September 10 in downtown Williamson.
The Coal Dust Run is an “experience” based race that takes runners through a 3.1 mile course where they enter “coal dust” zones. There, volunteers throw black, dry colored powder onto the runners. The run results in finishers looking like coal miners.
In the past, the event has drawn nearly 400 entries. Executive Director Natalie Taylor said we would like to increase the number into the thousands.
Sponsorship prices are as follows: $1,000 – Presenting Sponsor- top of t-shirt-included on bibs
$ 500 – Gold Sponsor- large logo on shirt
$ 350 – Sleeve logo (2 available)
$ 250 – Logo on shirt
$ 100 – Listing on shirt
Sponsorship covers the “coal dust” ingredients, t-shirts for runners (which will bear your name), custom medals and bibs, and advertisement of the event.
Anyone interested in sponsoring this event can contact Natalie at the Tug Valley Chamber of Commerce at 304-235-5240.
