WILLIAMSON —Break out those super hero shirts and capes everybody.
Besides Halloween and Birthday parties there aren’t many days of the year where adults can get away with walking around in super hero attire. Come the morning of July 25th you wont just be able to walk around in it, you can run in it, the flying part is optional.
Energy Express will be hosting a ” fighting Hunger Run ” at the Williamson PK-8 on July 25th. All interested participants are encouraged to dress in attire that shows the true spirit of the event, courage , and heroics. The event will start at the Williamson PK-8 School building at 7:00 A.M. and will be a two mile walk/run group run.
All you need to enter the event are ten non-perishable canned goods. All of the canned goods will be donated to House of Hope, Shepherds of the Hills, and Jacob’s Well. This is an event to promote health & wellness and help fight hunger in our area.
Participants will be able to register prior to the event from 5:45 A.M. to 6:45 A.M. The Williamson PK-8 building, The Coal House , Williamson Farmers Market , and the Diabetes Coalition Office will serve as pre-registration sites starting next week.
Energy express is a summer reading and nutrition program to keep kids on track during the summer months. Each year, the sites conduct a community service project to help members of the community in some way.
