PARKERSBURG, W.Va. – Both Mingo Central and Tug Valley will hit the road this week for their second round playoff games in the Mountain State. The high school football quarter final pairings and dates have been set for all three classes.

The Miners (9-2) of Coach Yogi Kinder will travel to Bluefield (9-1) and play in historic Mitchell Stadium. The Beavers are the No. 2 seed in Class AA, while Mingo Central is the No. 7 seed.

Meanwhile, Tug Valley (8-3) will make the long trip toward the eastern panhandle to take on Moorefield (10-1). Coach Tony Clusky’s Panthers are the No. 12 seed in Class A, while Moorefield went into the post season as the No. 4 seed.

Mingo Central walloped visiting Summers County 62-28 this past Saturday at Harless Stadium. The Miners jumped out to a huge halftime lead and coasted to the first round win. It was the second playoff win in the young history of the consolidated school.

Tug Valley had a tough road battle with the Hillbillies at George Queen Stadium in Man. The Panthers pulled a gut-check in the final quarter to win 38-28.
