Evil comes in all forms and fashions. We hear about it and see it almost on a daily basis. It is evident as the leaders of Iran declare that they will wipe Israel off the face of the planet. Also, it may be viewed as Islamic terrorists blow up innocent people as their normal routine. It can be seen in organizations like Planned Parenthood as they sell baby organs like parts of a car. We do not have to travel far to witness its devastating impact. Sometimes we come in contact with it at home or in our neighborhood. Satan is busy and maybe working overtime in these last days. We are admonished in Peter 5:8 to be on guard because our adversary is seeking to devour. In spite of this warning, we are also made aware that God gives us the tools we need to prevail.
Luke10:17 records 70 disciples returning to Jesus from a mission trip. They rejoiced about a successful journey and their triumph over the demonic. It is possible that they ran into folks who were oppressed by the devil. Perhaps they faced opposition to their very plans and purposes of the outreach. Although there are scientific reasons why we become sick, maybe they encountered diabolical illnesses along the way. Whatever the confrontation, it ended in celebration as the 70 shared how the demons were subject to them in the name of Jesus. Jesus tells them that he has given us power over all the power of the enemy. As the Body of Christ and as an individual believer, we have power in his name to subdue evil.
What kind of demons are you facing in your life? God does not want you to be a doormat for the devil. You are called to be the victor and not the victim. He has given us the powerful weapons of his word, prayer, and praise. You cannot lose when you are fully equipped with the armor of God. In addition, he has privileged us to call on his name. Have you been taking advantage of what God has given you? It is time that you annihilate the evil in your home with the help of the Lord. Also, it is time that the Church conquers the wickedness seen in the world. Together, let us tap into this power to make our world a better place. We will overcome when we call on Jesus.
