NAUGATUCK – The Mingo County Board of Education approved a number of personnel actions at Tuesday’s regular meeting.
Six were approved for new employment into existing positions. Kimberly Dotson was approved as substitute school nurse, at Mingo County Schools. Sherry Dotson was approved as a substitute teacher for Mingo County Schools. Tammy Messer was approved as a substitute school nurse at Mingo County Schools. Rosalie Reed was approved as music teacher at Kermit PK-8. Virginia Thomas was approved to teach Art at Mingo Central High School. Jonda Whitt was approved as substitute teacher for Mingo County Schools.
Resignations were approved for Jacqueline Hill, Robert May, Mary Rayburn and Joann Shoup.
A request for a leave of absence was approved for Robert Browning which will remain in effect through February 20, 2017.
Five were approved for professional extracurricular assignments. April Bowen was approved as a Homebound Instructor for Mingo Country Schools. Gary Collins was approved as boys’ basketball Coach at Matewan Pk-8. Cameron Smith was approved for football coach at Matewan PK-8. Shawn Kiser was approved as the Math Tutor for Gear Up at Tug Valley High School. Brian Stacy was approved as boys basketball coach for Burch PK-8.
Two service personnel transferred into existing positons. Those approved for transfer include Richard Herbst and Betty Massey.
Four service personnel were approved for retirement. Those approved include Dianna Bragg, Dee Lambert, Nadine Snell and James Tuley.
The resignation of James Branham as substitute bus driver for Mingo County Schools was also approved.
Several terminations were approved due to a lack of availability. Approved terminations include Shawna Belcher, Sharon Ferguson, Kathy Rose, Calvin Smith, and John Wellman.
Carolyn Baize was approved to be reclassified as Aide III/ Early Childhood Classification Assistant Teacher.
A request for a leave of absence was approved for Kevin Salmons and will extend through December 1, 2016.
The next regular meeting of the Mingo County BOE will be held on December 20, 2016.
