WILLIAMSON – Election Day has arrived and voters throughout Mingo County will cast their ballots today in the West Virginia Primary Election.
This marks the end of the election for non-partisan positions such as members of the Mingo County Board of Education, Magistrate positions, Circuit Judge and Family Court Judges.
The parties will also be nominating their candidates for Sheriff, Assessor, Circuit Clerk, County Clerk, County Prosecuting Attorney, County Commission, State Senator, House of Delegates as well as presidential and gubernatorial nominees.
Those running for the Mingo County Board of Education include James David Farley, Sabrina Grace, Donnie Canterbury, Lossie Mahone, Larry Furguson, Nathan Hatfield and Jerry Lyall.
Division one candidates for the Magistrate race include Brock Mounts, Donald Sansom and Billy Sexton. Division two candidates for Magistrate include Dave Justice, Marry Marcum and James “Tick” Fugett. Division three candidates for Magistrate include Donald Roy Stevens, Jim Harvey, Scott “Big Block” Smith and Michele Webb.
Candidates for Circuit Judge include Robert Carlton, Miki Thompson and Teresa McCune.
Family Court Judge candidates include Tonya (Mounts) Hatfield and Sabrina Deskins.
Sheriff candidates include Barry Blair, Earl C. Spence and James M. Smith.
Candidates for Mingo County Assessor include Romona Mahon and Amber Mounts Bishop.
Those running for Mingo County Circuit Clerk include Brandy (Baisden) Haney, Camilla Walters Ellis, Lonnie Hannah, and Billy Sammons.
Candidates for County Clerk include Larry “Yogi” Croaff and “Big” Jim Hatfield.
Candidates for Mingo County Prosecuting Attorney include Johnathon “Duke” Jewell and Teresa Hall Maynard.
Those running for county commission include John Mark Hubbard, Thomas Taylor and Marvin Vernatter.
The candidate for County Surveyor is Jimmy Webb. He is unopposed.
Those running for House of Delegates for District 20 include Justin Marcum and Ronnie Blankenship (Democrats), Mike Baisden (Republican) and Brad Hager (Libertarian).
Those running for the House of Delegates District 21 include Vivian Livingood and Phyllis White (Democrats),Roger Stacy and Mark Dean (Republicans).
Candidates for State Senate include Brandon Barker and Rocky Seay (Democrats) and Chandler Swope (Republican).
The General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 8.
