Police looking for “streaker” and accomplices

SOUTH WILLIAMSON, Ky. – Singer Ray Stevens would be interested in a “streaking” incident that happened at the local Walmart store in South Williamson, Ky.

Stevens, a popular country/novelty song writer, recorded and released the song “The Streak” back in 1974.

This past Thursday, June 18, 2015, the Pike County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report that an individual had entered the Walmart of South Williamson, while wearing no clothing, went to the back of the store shouted “I’m on fire” and poured a gallon of milk on himself.

The individual then left the store, got into a vehicle driven by a second individual, and left the scene. The incident was videotaped by a third individual and uploaded to social media. The video had many views before being taken off the internet.

An investigation has been conducted and warrants have been obtained for Timothy Smith of Phelps, Ky. and David Daniels of Belfry, Ky. The sheriff’s department has the name of another suspect and is looking at that individual as a person of interest.

The investigation is ongoing with possibly more arrests pending.

The case remains under investigation by Pike County Deputy Sheriff Shawn Scott.
