Tomblin appoints White to 21st District

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin announced Tuesday, January 12, the appointment of Phyllis White to represent residents of the 21st District in the West Virginia House of Delegates. White’s appointment fills the vacancy created by former Delegate Harry Keith White’s resignation.

The governor’s appointment is effective immediately.

A graduate of Marshall University with bachelor’s and master’s degrees, Phyllis White worked for the Mingo County School system for 32 years. She retired in December as the principal of Gilbert Elementary School, where she previously served as assistant principal.

Phyllis White was recently named the RESA 2 principal of the year, and she attends Gilbert Presbyterian Church.

Phyllis White lives in Gilbert with her husband, Harry Keith White.
