WILLIAMSON – A revitalization of the Williamson Fieldhouse is underway with several upcoming events planned and efforts being made to update the facility.
Recently, a new chain length fence was erected at the Lefty Hamilton Park. A new scoreboard was also installed.
Currently, advertising signs are being sold to update the outdated signs inside the building. Money raised will enable the Williamson Park Board to make improvements to the Fieldhouse.
“Half of the signs that line the Fieldhouse are outdated. Some of the businesses currently being advertised have been closed for a while,” Brandon Ball, said.
The signs are 4’ x 8’ and the cost is $400 the first year and $200 the second year. Some of the signs have already been sold but plenty of spaces are available.
Upcoming events are planned throughout Dec. and the first of the New Year.
On Tuesday Dec. 8, Logan Wildcats and Mingo Central Miners will have the first basketball game of the season at the Williamson Fieldhouse. The event is expected to draw a large crowd.
