CASS, W. Va. – With the onset of fall colors and lower temperatures Fall Harvest Day, Sept. 26, 2015, is full activities in the community of Cass, West Virginia.
“We have fun. We enjoy meeting families and people who come to our town to enjoy the community atmosphere and appreciate practical fun and activities,” said Cass activities coordinator Monica Fleming.
The Little Switzerland Cloggers are a featured event in addition to locomotive shop tours and town tours. Visitors to this Pocahontas County state park will be able to enjoy apple butter making, hay rides, pumpkin sales and painting, free crafts for children, and artisan sales and demonstrations. Of special interest is the Cass Showcase, featuring a large diorama depicting the town of Cass when it was a booming early 20th century logging community and a short film about the history of the town. The day ends with a 7 p.m;. fire pit and marshmallow roast. The Company Store and the Last Run Restaurant will be open for Harvest Day. Activities in town are open to the public without charge.
