DELBARTON – Last Saturday, the town of Delbarton kicked off its annual homecoming events with the Bill Smith Bulldog 5-k run.
Today, a pet show is scheduled at the Delbarton Town Square from the hours of 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. A beauty pageant is also scheduled for today at the Opry House from the hours of 6 to 7 p.m. At the Kiwanis Park, a Kid’s Fishing Tournament will also take place from 6 to 8 p.m. There is a fee for the pet show and the beauty pageant, but the fishing tournament is free.
On Friday, Sept. 4, there will be arts and craft vendors downtown from noon until closing. There will be a hog and brown beans dinner at the Town Square at 5 p.m. A talent showcase will follow, and will take place between the hours of 6 to 7:30 p.m. At 8 p.m., there will be a block party featuring Rick and The All Nighters. The events will conclude with fireworks over town square at 10 p.m. All events will be free to the public.
On Saturday, Sept. 5, there will be arts and craft vendors downtown starting at 8 a.m. There will be a car show at Town Square from the hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is an entry fee for the car show. The Great Lakes Timber Show will take place at Town Square at 11 a.m.,1 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 4 p.m. There will be an arts and crafts showcase learning center from the hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. free of charge. There will also be kid games downtown from the hours of 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parents may register their children in the kid’s run at noon.
Also occurring on Saturday, Sept. 5, will be a Burch High School Alumni Reception at Connolly Memorial Church from the hours of 1 to 5 p.m. There will be a parade through town at 3 p.m. Parade participants will line up at Delbarton Grade School no later than 2:30 p.m.
That evening, there will be a free fish fry dinner at Town Square from 5 to 6 p.m. There will be bluegrass at Town Square beginning at 6 p.m. From 9 p.m. until 12 midnight, there will be a Young at Heart learning center.
Homecoming events will conclude Sunday, Sept. 6, with a community feast adjacent to the Opry House from the hours of 5 to 6 p.m. There will be gospel singing at 6 p.m. and a movie night for children from the hours of 6 to 8 p.m. all events Sunday will be free to the public.
