KERMIT – Some things should be sacred, but apparently not to a thief (or thieves) that have continued to burglarize the Kermit United Methodist Church the past few months.
Over the past year, several burglaries have occurred and multiple items have been stolen, according to Pastor Brad Davis.
Those items include a brand new laptop, a donated desktop computer, a DVD player, various cleaning supplies, donated food for the Christian HELP Pantry and money designated for disaster relief.
Besides that, there has been vandalism. Some windows have also been broken at the hillside church located on Cabell Street.
“We’ve changed locks twice, but it continues to happen,” Davis said.
Trooper J.D. Matheny of the Williamson Detachment of the West Virginia State Police is investigating the break-ins. If anyone has any information on the burglaries they should contact the WVSP at 304-235-6000.
