With grilling season in full swing, I wanted to share one of my favorites with you…Grilled Meatloaf Patties. I simply love meatloaf and I have many different ways that I cook it, but to be able to use the grill and not heat up the kitchen by turning on the oven makes these patties even better. Serve them along side a bed of mashed potatoes and it’s just the perfect meal.
When I was growing up and Mama would cook up a meatloaf she always made enough so that we would have leftovers for meatloaf sandwiches the next day. There was nothing better than a cold meatloaf sandwich topped with potato chips. I still look forward to those sandwiches every time I make a meatloaf, and these patties on a bun the next day are delicious.

Grilled Meatloaf Patties
1 lb. ground sirloin
1/4 C. diced onion
1 large egg, beaten
1 T. worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. my house seasoning (equal parts garlic powder, onion powder and pepper…combine and store in an airtight container)
1/2 tsp. smoked paprika
12 buttery round crackers, crushed
3/4 C. shredded cheddar cheese
3 T. ketchup
Combine all ingredients, by hand, in a bowl. Form the mixture into 4-5 patties and place on a baking sheet. Cover and place them in the fridge for 1 hour. Remove them, 15 minutes before you plan to grill. Heat your grill to med. high heat and grill the patties for 6-7 minutes per side (adjust your grill if they begin to char a little too quickly). Brush with the topping during the last couple of minutes of grilling.
1/4 C. ketchup
1 tsp. stone ground mustard
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp. smoked paprika
Combine well and brush over patties.
