Carmen Lea (Fouch) Keene, 62 of Hardy, Ky. passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the South Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital following a brief illness.

She was born April 22, 1950 at Logan, WV the daughter of the late Willard and Anna Lyons Fouch. She was also preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and (Bobby) Sisco; brother, Paul Fouch and two other brother-in-laws, Ernest Taylor and Lon Adkins.

Carmen was an employee of the Pike County Board of Education as a Head Start teacher at Southside Elementary School, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Canada Freewill Baptist Church. She was a very active member of the Pike County Democratic Women’s Club where she served as President for three terms, First Vice President for three terms, Secretary for two terms, a member of the Nominating Committee and Scholarship Committee. She was also a member of the Pike County Executive Committee. Carmen touched the life of all who knew her. She loved everybody and she was loved by everybody and will definatily be missed.

Survivors include her sons, Jason Fouch of Hardy, Ky. and Paul Fouch of Richmond, Ky.; brothers, Willard (Elva) Fouch of Slaters Branch, Ky. and David (Linda) Fouch of Hardy, Ky.; sisters, Peggy Taylor of Williamson, WV, Janice (Marvin) Williams of Slaters Branch, Ky., Barbara Preece of Toler, Ky., Alice (John) Helvey of Charleston, WV, Sandra Adkins of Huddy, Ky., Brenda (Gary) Hunt of Delbarton, WV and Terri Roblee of Belfry, Ky.; sister-in-law, Ocie Fouch Harris of Columbus, Ohio; grandchild, Alexia Fouch; special friend, Toni Canterbury of South Williamson, Ky. and a host of very special nieces, nephews, friends and former and present students and the staff of Southside Elementary.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 12 noon, at the Belfry High School Auditorium with Jack Maynard and John Helvey officiating. Burial will follow in the Fouch Family Cemetery, Slaters Branch, Ky. with nephews serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held after 6 PM Monday and Tuesday at R. E.
