Lewis Nicholas (Nick) Davis, Jr., 78, of Old Field Branch Road, Maher, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012, at the Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Ky.
Born July 12, 1933, at Old Field Branch, Maher, he was the son of the late Lewis Nicholas Davis, Sr. and Ivory Duncan Davis.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother, Jennings Davis; and three sisters, Pauline Cummings, Imogene Foltz and Mary Alice Davis.
Nick was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was retired and had worked for a number of years as an airplane mechanic with American Airlines. He attended the Maher Freewill Baptist Church.
Nick is survived by a beloved brother, Robert “Bob” Davis of Maher; and three loving sisters, Christine Schultz of Cincinnati, Ohio, Norma Lawrence of Alexandria, Va., and Loretta Jahnke of Stafford, Va. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 10, at the Maher Freewill Baptist Church.
The funeral service is at noon. The Rev. Chris Hensley will officiate. Interment is in the Mountain View Memory Gardens at Maher. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers. The Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 141, Belfry, Ky., will conduct military rites.
