Michael Tyler Hatfield, 17, of Gilbert, departed this life on Tuesday, May 1, 2012.

Born January 10, 1995, at Logan, he is the son of Michael and Patty Kennedy Hatfield.

Tyler was preceded in death by his sister, Summer Desirae Hatfield; his uncle, Justin Hatfield; and one cousin, Roger Todd Hatfield.

Tyler was a loving son, nephew, cousin and friend. He was a junior at Mingo Central High School and worked at Hardee’s in Gilbert. He loved playing football and was an avid fan of the Pittsburg Steelers. He was a wonderful friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to love and cherish the memory of Tyler and to mourn his passing include his parents, Michael and Patty Kennedy Hatfield of Gilbert; his paternal grandfather, George Hatfield of Gilbert; his maternal grandparents, Paul and Loretta Kennedy of Justice; his uncles, Roger (Tonya) Hatfield of Kentucky, Brock Hatfield and George (Diane) Hatfield, both of Gilbert; his aunts, Elizabeth Hatfield, Ramona Hatfield, Michelle (Joey) New and Cindy (Obed) Johnson, all of Gilbert; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer at Hampden on Thursday, May 3 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 4, at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer with the Revs. Carl “Cab” Wolford and Homer Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Carter Cemetery at Browning Fork section of Gilbert.

Tyler will be carried to his final resting place by Josh and John May, Josh Bailey, Dakota Endicott, Brandon Blankenship, Dustin Vannatter, Ashton Cline and other members of the football team.

Mounts Funeral Home of Gilbert is in charge of arrangements.
