Williamson Police Lieutenant Dave Rockel said a prisoner attempted to escape from authorities during processing.
Monroe Justice, 40, of Van Lear, Ky., was driving up Slater Street near the cemetery in West Williamson when his vehicle left the road, landing on the porch of a residence. Justice was arrested for reckless driving, striking highway fixtures, no insurance, no registration and obstructing an officer.
After his arrest, Lt. Rockel said he was processing Justice at the Williamson Police Department when Justice attempted to escape while handcuffed.
“He was really rowdy,” Rockel said. “He just jumped and ran out the door. Even when handcuffed, he was still capable of hurting someone.”
Rockel chased Justice into the parking lot, where he was apprehended. Justice remains in the Southwestern Regional Jail.
