Roger Dale Estep, 60, of Lenore, went home to be with the Lord on July 30, 2010 at the St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington.

He was born Feb. 14, 1950 at Ragland, the son of the late Rhodes Estep. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Mae Estep, son Roger Dale Estep Jr., father-in-law, Thomas New, Jr.

Roger was a preacher at the Lily of the Valley Freewill Baptist Church and a veteran of the Vietnam War having served as a proud Marine.

His survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Lois Estep; daughter, Amy (Chris) Thompson of Louisa, Ky.; son, Thomas “Tommy” (Mildred) Estep of Kermit; mother, Maudie Mae Damron Estep and Robert Tolle, of Shelby, Ohio; brothers, John (Lilian) Estep, of Belo, Dallas (Kimberly) Estep of New Washington, Ohio, and Rhodes (Rachel) Estep of Findley, Ohio, Sisters, Linda (Leonard) Newsome of Lenore, Brenda Davis and Trina Estep of Shelby, Ohio; grandchildren: Brittany, David and Emily Jarrell; Tyler and Angel Estep; Raymond and Austin Toler; and in-laws: Dorothy New, Thomas (Sherry) New, Vicky (Terry) Marcum and David Jarrell.

Funeral services will be held at the Lilly of the Valley Freewill Baptist Church at Rife Branch, Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Gene Goodman and Rev. Jay Marcum officiating. Burial will follow in the Estep Cemetery at 27 Hollow, Delbarton.

Visitation will be at the church after 6 p.m. with special services starting at 7 p.m.
