74, of McVeigh, Ky., passed
away Friday July 23, 2010 at
the VA Hospital in
Huntington, W.V. He was
born March 25, 1936 in Pike
County, Ky. to the late
Ballard and Beulah Maynard
Smith. He is also preceded in
death by one sister; Betty Lou
Guglechuck. He was a retired
coal miner with Eastern Coal
Company, a member of the
U.M.W.A. and a veteran of
the U.S. Army in the Korean
War.
He is survived by his
wife; FreidaMae Holt Smith,
one daughter; Leigh Ann
Cline of McVeigh, Ky., one
son; Willie Edward Smith Jr.
of Fair Haven, Mi., three
brothers; Albert Smith of
Turkey Creek, Ky., Dannie
Lee Smith of Illinois and
Ballard Smith Jr. of Florida
and five grandchildren.
Amemorial service will be
conducted at 11A.M. Sunday
July 25, 2010 at Belfry
Freewill Baptist Church with
Buddy Kendrick officiating.
R. E. Rogers Funeral Home
of Belfry, Kentucky is in
charge of arrangements.
