He was retired from the Eastern Kentucky Consentrated Employement Program, was a member of the McAndrews Church of Christ for 59 years and was a veteran of the US Army having served in World War II in the 22nd Division.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Chapman Cochran of Huddy, Ky., three daughters, Sandra Elaine (John) Combs of Lexington, Ky., Brenda Carol (Ronnie) Ritz of Pikeville, Ky. and Jennifer Joann Cochran of Frankfort, Ky.; two sons, Charles Steven (Marian) Cochran of Huntington, WV and Christopher Brian Cochran of Stone, Ky.; two sisters, Reda Nowlin of Ohio and Dixie Brown of Morehead, Ky.; two brothers, Harold Cochran of Huddy, Ky. and Ralph Cochran of Michigan; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with David Parsley officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky. with his grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
Visitation was held from 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. Tuesday night at the Funeral Home Chapel.
