He was born Feb. 6, 1950 in Turkey Creek, Ky., to the late Rev. Belvin and Vesta Collins Gibson. He had severed two tours in Vietnam in the United States Air Force and had been a coal miner, avid hunter and horse racing enthusiast.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his three infant siblings Elsie, Rosie and Richard.
He is survived by, daughters Sarah Gibson and Nikki Gibson; sons Eric Gibson and Randell Gibson; brothers Moss Gibson, Don (Patricia) Gibson, Wayne ( Pam) Gibson and Burrell Gibson; sister Frances (Bill) Miller; grandchildren Phillip Long, Deric Gibson, Jarod Bills, Marina Bills and Audria Gibson.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday May 27, at the Brooks-Durham Funeral Home, with Rev. Arnold Petry and Rev. Arthur Jackson; music will be provided by David Lundy. Burial will follow in The Gibson Family Cemetery at Turkey Creek, Ky. Pallbearers will family and friends
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Pineville, Ky.
