Belfry wins one, loses one in Disney Invitational matchups

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Belfry Pirates have continued their week-long furlough at the Walt Disney World Spring Training Invitational with two games.

Priates take win from Francis T. Mahoney

The Pirates defeated Francis T. Maloney High School in seven innings Tuesday, April 13.

Jared Masters got the win for Belfry, pitching through four and a third innings. Masters walked eight, gave up five hits, and struck-out two batters. Masters was backed up by Belfry’s defense and received some help to pick up the win.

Timmy Lovern hit a two-run double for Belfry. Matt Blackburn got on base three times, twice from singles and once being hit by a pitch. Keegan Fields knocked in a run with an RBI single.

Morgan makes Pirates walk the plank

The Pirates’ six-game winning streak came to an abrupt end Wednesday despite the best efforts of Belfry’s pitcher Keegan Fields. Fields gave up only two hits, walked three batters, struck out two, and had no earned runs. Morgan scored their two runs on errors.

Belfry had four hits from the plate from two hitters. Matt Blackburn once again had two singles and was hit by another pitch. Nick Hunt hit two singles and batted in Belfry’s only run.

Belfry (9-5) will play their final game in Orlando Friday against Marcellus, N.Y.
