Tony Curtis Hatfield, 46 of Ransom, Ky., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Ky. following a lingering illness.
Born Oct. 3, 1963 in Union, S.C., he was the son of Curtis and Chelsea Mullins Hatfield of Ransom, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Perry and Cosby Hatfield, and his maternal grandparents: Roy Alvie and Maggie Mullins.
Tony was a 1981 graduate of Belfry High School, a former coal miner, and a member of the Leckieville Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, his survivors include his wife: Melinda Preece Hatfield of Ransom, Ky., one daughter: Tonya (Brad) Smith of Ransom, Ky.; one brother: Perry (Cathy) Hatfield of Ransom, Ky.; one sister: Malinda (Mark) Ford of Ransom, Ky.; two grandchildren: Bradyn and Blake Smith of Ransom, Ky.; two special nieces: Maranda Randa Ford and Katie Katie Bird Ford; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 8 at 1 p.m. at the Leckieville Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Lonnie Francis and Bro. Lee Dotson Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Hatfield Cemetery on the Left Fork of Blackberry, Ransom, Ky. with James McIntosh, Eddie Taylor, Billy Slone, Brad Smith, Brandon Osborne, Mark Ford, Tate Dotson, and Dennis McGuire serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Thursday at the Leckieville Freewill Baptist Church with special services at 7 p.m.
