He was born at Smith Fork, Freeburn, Ky., Jan. 16, 1935, to the late Anderson and Lena Stump Casey.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by son, Stevie Glen Casey; brothers, Shorty Casey, Junior Casey, Anthony Casey, Thomas Casey, Ermal Casey and James Casey; sisters Hazel Casey Smith and Sadie Casey Thorpe
Glen worked as a supervisor for the Lockfarmer Company of Chicago for 12 years; he was owner and operator of Casey’s Grocery and Eula’s Fashions in Phelps; he was a miner and coal truck driver for Kentland Coal Company and retired, having worked for Eastern Coal Company; he also served as a Pike County Deputy Sherriff for 22 years.
Glen was an active member of the Phelps community. He was president of the Odd Fellow’s Association and was a member of the UMWA original Local #5737 which later merged into Local #1440. He was also a member of the Primitive Baptist Church of Phelps.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Eula Faye Casey; sons, Marty Casey of Phelps and Chad (Donna) Casey of Harold, K.; daughter, Shirley (Jeff) Coleman of Phelps; brothers, Earl Casey of Clay City, Ky., Ernest Casey of Cynthiana, Ky., George Casey of Clay City, Clinton (Joann) Casey of Stanton, Ky., and Clifford Casey of Morehead, Ky.; special brother, Ancie Lee Casey of Phelps; sister, Sharlene (Jr) Casey Taylor of South Williamson, Ky.; grandchild, Chris (Andrea) Coleman of Phelps; and great-grandchild, Cyeria Casey of Paducah, Ky.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon, Sunday, Dec. 6, at the Church of God In Jesus Name at Phelps with the Rev. Opie Harris officiating. Entomb-ment will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky.
Active pallbearers will be nephews and friends. Junior pallbearers will be members of the Phelps ball team. Honorary pallbearers will be the Pike County Sheriffs Dept.
The family will begin receiving friends on Friday at 6 p.m with special singing beginning at 7 p.m. at the church; and a special service on Saturday.
