She was born March 4, 1930, at Lando, the daughter of the late Carl and Goldie Powers Edwards.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jackie Hess Blevins.
She was a member of the Crossfire Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Richard Hess, sons Larry (Ida) Hess of Sheffield Lake, Ohio, and Randal (Pam) Hess of Cuyohoga Falls, Ohio, a son-in-law, Mark Blevins of Columbus, Ohio, grandchildren Terri (Everett) Fields, Jenny (Harold) Scott, Beth (Jeff) Gibson, Larry (Danielle) Hess, Mariah and Amanda Wyncoop of Cuyohoga Falls, great-grandchildren Colton and Mason Hess, Kaitlyn and Jacob Gibson and Kenzie and Kylee Scott, a brother, Howard Carl (Evelyn) Edwards of Millersburg, Ohio, sisters Eula Irene Edwards of Varney, Carol Evelyn (Phil) Grimmett of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Joyce (David) Kirk of Lansing, Mich.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009 at the Chafin Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Robinette officiating.
Burial will follow at Mt. View Memory Gardens at Maher.
Pallbearers will be Larry, Randal and Larry Hess II, Everett Fields, Harold Scott and Jeff Gibson.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, at the funeral home.
