John Lee Brewer, 72, of Lenore, W.Va., passed away Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. He was born February 7, 1937, in Mingo County, W.Va., a son of the late Elza and Dora Mae Mayhorn Brewer.

He was a coal miner and a member of the Louisa Church of God.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by two sisters, Allene Hun-dley and Martha O’Brien.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Faye Smith Brewer of Lenore, W.Va.; two daughters, Jennifer Lynn (Randy) Mitchell of Lucas-ville, Ohio, and Lavonna Ann (Daniel) Wallace of Catlettsburg, Ky.; one son, John Lee (Tanayea) Brewer Jr., of Lucasville, Ohio; one brother, Charles Brewer of Williamson, W.Va.; six sisters, Gladys Jarrells of Huntington, W.Va., Shirley Dillow of Dingus, W.Va., Dora Mae Newsome of Will-iamson, W.Va., Helen Bre-wer of Lenore, W.Va., Barbara Blair of Williamson, W.Va., and Lorene Thomas of Lenore, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren, Randy Mitchell II, Andy Mitchell, Sabrina Brewer, Arianna Brewer, Jasmyn Brewer, John Daniel Wallace, Ashley Smith, Ter-ry Sheppard, Shawn Shep-pard and Paige Sheppard.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Wed-nesday, September 16, 2009 at Louisa Church of God, with Rev. Paul Stepp officiating.

Visitation will be after i6 p.m., Tuesday at Louisa Church of God.
