Teddy Jack Varney, 69, of Varney, W.Va., passed away Sept. 5, 2009 at the Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va., He was born July 26, 1940 at Varney, W.Va., to the late Bill R. and Mary Florence Sias Varney. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Thirl, Troy, Ray, Happy, and Travis (Dan) Varney.

Teddy was the loving and devoted husband, of 42 years, to Sandra (Sandy) Browning Varney. He was dedicated and beloved father to Terri Renea Varney of S. Charleston, W.Va., and Cynthia Dawn Varney of Varney, W.Va.

He was of the Church of God Faith and thanked the Lord daily for the many blessings in his life. Teddy will always be remembered for his compassion, generosity, kind heart and joyous spirit. He is greatly missed by friends, family and co-workers.

At age 69, Teddy continued to be a hard working coal truck driver. He had a great comradery and respect for his fellow truck drivers.

He is also survived by two brothers, and three sisters — Eddie H. Varney of Salt Rock, W.Va., Curtis Hoover Varney of Greenville, Tenn., and Betty Oguich, Donna Varney and Nan Cook all of Barboursville, W.Va. And a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at the Pie Church of God Wednesday Sept. 9, 2009 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Bill Snodgrass officiating.

Burial will follow in the Varney Cemetery at Varney, W.Va.

Visitation will be at the church Tuesday evening after 6 pm., with services starting at 7 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Brown, David Varney, Jerod Psyskowski, Chris Carter, Jessie Woolum, and Michael Ray Varney.
