Timmy White, assistant chief with the Delbarton Volunteer Fire Department, said the name of the victim is being held pending notification of his family.
“It was an older two-story home,” White said, noting the house was near the Delbarton Regional Church of God.
Although an investigation into the fire is underway by the state fire marshal, the cause of the fire appears to electrical in nature. White said he felt the fire would be ruled accidental.
The Chattaroy Volunteer Fire Department helped the Delbarton department with water support and eight additional firefighters, who assisted the 12 Delbarton firefighters who answered the call.
