Everette Hatfield, 79 of Ransom, Ky. passed away Sunday, April 26, 2009 at his residence.

He was born January 29, 1930 in Pike County, Ky. the son of the late Jonah and Mabel McCoy Hatfield.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Earnestine Hatfield who died October 31, 2008 and by one sister, Nancy Faye Dotson.

He was a retired coal miner with Massey Coal Corp., a member of the UMWA and a Veteran of the US Army.

Survivors include one daughter, Charlotte Donley of Ransom, Ky. and one son, Charley (Ethel) Hatfield of Cherryville, N.C., three sisters, Patsy (Ron) Salmons  and Phy-lada (George) Smith all of Ransom, Ky. and Lilly Crawley of Lexington, Ky., three brothers, Dorse (Ina) Hatfield and Don Hatfield all of Ransom, Ky. and Dock (Nancy) Hatfield of Houston, Ohio, four grandchildren, Jonah Everette (Brittany) Prater, Melinda Ruth Prater, Charles Elbert Hatfield and Rebecca Ann (Jimmy) Mellon and two great grandchildren, Karlie and Tyler Mellon and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be in Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky.  Visitation will be after 6 PM Tuesday at Rogers Funeral Home Chapel.  Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.  R.
