Homer Dye, 87, of Williamson, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013, at Williamson Memorial Hospital.
Born February 22, 1926, in Williamson, he was the son of the late Kenis F. Dye and Ella Jane Canida Dye.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three sisters, Mable Ratcliffe, Elizabeth Dye, Mary Patterson and three brothers, Burgess, Carl and Carlos Dye.
Homer was of the Baptist faith. He was a Mason and a 57 year member of O’Brien Lodge, #101. He was employed by Norfolk Southern Railroad for 43 years, 8 months and he was a former local chairman of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees. Homer’s hobby was watch repair.
Homer is survived by a brother, Clifford Dye of Ocean Springs, MI, and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday evening, June 26, 2013, at Weaver Mortuary in West Williamson.
Graveside services will be conducted at noon on Thursday, June 27, 2013, at the Fairview Cemetery in West Williamson. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
