Dr. James Phares, West Virginia Superintendent of Schools, accepted an invitation from Mingo Superintendent Randy Keathley to visit Mingo Central High School last week.

Although classes are not in session for the summer break, students were busy at the Career and Technical Center in the school, and Dr. Phares spoke to several students.

“This is the school on top of the world,” Dr. Phares told the Daily News. “The students here are doing so much good work. It is nice to see Mingo Central’s leaders allowing students to use their minds and be creative, and to learn to solve problems.”
