Douglas Eugene Stuart, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 20, 2013.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, where he earned a Purple Heart, serving as the First Platoon Sergeant in the 90th tank and 89th tank division. He also served as Sergeant First class and tank instructor at Ft. Knox and West Point.
He retired from Sears and was a member of the Beni Kedem Shriners of Charleston. He was a member of New Life Church of God in Sevierville, Tenn. He was a Scout Master in the Boy Scouts of America for over 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Stuart, brother, Freddy Stuart and sister, Emma Ferguson.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Mike Madlom, his son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Beth Stuart, grandchildren, Whitney Madlom, Tyler Madlom, Chasse Stuart, Hayley Stuart, Blake Stuart and Cassie Stuart, sibling JoAnn Hankins and Everett Stuart, special friends Jeanetta Stuart, Johnny and Naomi Brown and many loved ones.
Visitation will be Friday, May 24, 2013 from 10 until 11 a.m. at Highland South Funeral Home 9010 East Simpson Road, Knoxville, Tenn. with a funeral service in the chapel at 11 a.m., with interment to immediately follow at Highland South Memorial Park.
