At 6:15, area girls basketball players such as Kaci Slone, Katherine Endicott, Erica Hatfield, Kirsten Brown, Carissa Sartin, Rojet Lowe and Krista Edwards lead 20 other senior teammates into the girls all-star contest.
Then at 8:00, area boys basketball favorites such as Brandon Burgraff, Alex Anderson, Zach Preece, Michael Davidson, Matt Kennedy, Derrick Hayes and Brett Sorrell lead 25 other boys prep standouts into the boys all-star event.
Door open at 5:30 and tickets are $3.00 for adults and $2.00 for students.
Local area coaches Phillip Mitchell, Curt Fletcher, Don Taylor, Robin Porter and Melvin Cunningham are some of the prep coaches who will be on the sidelines providing direction for the teams tonight.
Coach Mitchell, who along with Coach Fletcher coaches the blue boys, said everyone needs to come and watch this year’s games.
“Practice went really well last night. We had enough at practice to scrimmage and I think it’s going to be a great game.”said Mitchell.
“The Twin Rivers Classic is a great event in that it allows these kids to play with each other rather than against each other and gives them one last opportunity to play. The Classic also gives us coaches a chance to all work together with these kids and the kids enjoy it.“ Mitchell added, “It’a always been a pleasure to coach them. Everybody needs to come out for these kids tonight. I really think we’re going to have two great basketball games.”
