Joy Bailey, formerly of Williamson, WV died March 29, 2009. She lived 81 years. She passed quietly, and, as she tried to live her life, with the greatest dignity.

Joy was well known during her time in Williamson as a business owner, but she was an artist at heart.

She won many awards for her beautiful handmade quilts and ceramics, and once illustrated a children’s book. In her view, however, her greatest accomplishments were her children, Sheri (Wasky), Richmond VA, Terri (Price), Rich-mond, VA, Susanna (Zum-bro), Snellville, GA, Bret Bailey, Augusta, GA and Bart Bailey, Lawrenceville, GA.

Later, when she ceased her working career, she began her next greatest challenge. Softly, gently and delightedly she became the best Nana in the world to her Catie-Cate, Jessie and Justin.

Joy is survived by her children, grandchildren, her sister, Gay Hearn, of Nashville, TN whom she loved and cherished most dearly, and her brother, Jim Meeks of Charlotte, NC on whom she thought the sun rose and set.

She would want us to tell you that she also leaves behind not just her family, but her four favorite men in the world, Artie Zumbro, Frank Wasky, Bret Bailey and Curt Plaskon. She could never decide which one she loved the best, so she just loved them all the same.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions to Peachtree Christian Church and Hospice, Duluth, GA.
