Christine Younce Warden, passed away March 19, 2013, at the Williamson Memorial Hospital.


She was born Dec. 16, 1931, at Pikeville, Ky., the daughter of the late Walter and Della Stevens Younce.


She was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Silas Jackson Warden; two sons, Walter (Wally) Warden and John Christopher Warden; as well as a sister, Glyndyne Riggs.


Christine was a graduate of Burch High School and was an employee of the Mingo County Board of Education for more than 20 years as a cook at Burch Middle School. She was a faithful, charter member of the Connolly Memorial Baptist Church, serving as Sunday School Teacher and Deaconess.


Those left behind to cherish her memories include three children, Ted Warden and Brian (Marsha) Warden both of Delbarton, Melanie (Greg) Swisher of Ripley; 12 grandchildren, Tonya Meddings, TJ Warden, David Warden, Angela Bailey, Christopher Warden, Jillian Bright, Jacob Jude, Clayton and Cordell Swisher, BJ, Alex and Abigail Warden; 13 great-great-grandchildren, Taylor Wilson, Kaylee Meddings, Austin and Chase Warden, Stephen Ray and Autumn Warden, Jacoby Thornsbury, Aaron, Harrison, Hannah and Orval Bailey Jr., Rain and Nathanial Bright.


Funeral services will be held at the Connolly Memorial Baptist Church Saturday March 23, at 5 p.m. with the Rev. Danny Mitchell and the Rev. Jarrod Belcher officiating.
