Henry L. Morrison Jr. 73, of Varney passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Charleston, following a lingering illness. He was born February 25, 1939, at Sutton, the son of the late Henry Morrison Sr. and Audrey Morrison-Tingler.
Henry was a Army Veteran serving in Korea. He was a retired manager from Flowers Baking Company. He was a member of The Varney Baptist Church.
Henry is survived by his wife of 50 years Loretta (McCormick) Morrison, three sons Rodney (Linette) Morrison of Taylorville, Gary Morrison of Newtown, Timothy (Fawn) Morrison of Varney, and Billy Morrison of Hickory, N.C. Henry has five grandchildren Nathaniel, Nicole, Kyle, Morgan and Amanda Morrison and one great-grandson Kaiden, a brother John Camden, of Sutton, three sister’s Doris Stewart, Ann Gumm, both of Sutton, and Betty Harris of Waverly, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.
Henry made several acquaintances, both personal and professional throughout his life, he never met a stranger and will be sadly missed by all.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Colllins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Snodgrass and Pastor Clifford Rawls officiating. Burial will follow at the Musick Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013. Collins Funeral Home at Switzer is in charge of the arrangements.
