He was born January 20, 1981 in Huntington, W.Va., to Kenny Ray Cox of North Matewan, W.Va., and Lor-etta “Kiggen” Layne Cox of North Matewan, W.Va.
Kevin was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Ray Cox Jr.; a niece, Brooklyn Paige Cox; maternal grandparents Ida and Hulen Layne; paternal grandparents Line and Lafe Cox Jr.
Survivors include daughters Kierstan Cox of Red Jacket, W.Va., and Gab-rielle Cox of Blackberry City, W.Va.; sisters Amanda Cox of North Matewan, W.Va., and special nieces Shayla; Kailey; and Mckenna.
Honoring services will be Thursday, March 26, 2009, at 1 p.m., at Lynn Freewill Baptist Church at Lynn, W.Va., with ministers Don-nie Dingess; Michael Dingess; and Mike Casey officiating.
Burial will follow in the Varney Cemetery at Lynn, W.Va., with pallbearers be-ing special friends Sammy Joe Davis, Steven Ray,, Shawn Bench, Randy May, Allen Chafin, Thomas Hud-dle, Dock Blankenship, J.F., Smith; Chris Smith, and Thomas Copley.
Honorary pallbearers include Judge Mike Thorns-bury, Eugene Crum, Greg “Hootie” Smith, Dave Stra-tton, Doug Estepp, Bill Davis, Larry Croaff, John Mark Hubbard, and David Baisden.
The family will begin receiving friends on Tue-sday March 24, 2009, at the church beginning at 6 p.m.
