NEWTOWN – The Mingo Central Lady Miners ran past the Poca Dots 52 to 34 Monday night at the MCHS gym.

Senior point guard Chrissy Farmer scored eight points and dished out 10 assists to lead Mingo Central. Brittany Maynard fired in 11 points, Ashley Curry had eight points and Kiearia Hammond seven for MCHS. Curry also pulled down six rebounds and blocked eight shots for the Lady Miners.

Several players scored for the Lady Miners. Mingo Central was 23-41 from the field for 56 percent, according to coach David Hanshaw. They were scheduled to play Herbert Hoover on Tuesday night. The game story will be in Thursday’s edition of the Williamson Daily News because of early deadlines.

McKenzie Ball led Poca with 11 points.
