WILLIAMSON — A West Virginia State Police (WVSP) trooper placed a Chattaroy man under arrest after he allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend, causing injury.
WVSP Trooper First Class D.C. Moore responded to a complaint at a trailer park located in Chattaroy, after Mingo County 911 received a call of a domestic altercation in process. The trooper stated in the arrest report filed in Mingo County Magistrate Court that Danny West, 37, did strike and attempted to further strike Billie Milum, his ex-girlfriend, after arriving at a residence where she was staying.
West allegedly first became involved in an altercation with Christopher Savage, who was present at the location, and Milum is said to have attempted to break up the fight. West reportedly struck the female in the face with his hands and then proceeded to throw her to the ground several times. The victim suffered multiple contusions to her face, head and back.
West was taken into custody and was charged with 2 misdemeanor counts of domestic assault and domestic battery. He was arraigned before Magistrate Dee Sidebottom and was released from custody after meeting the requirements and stipulations of his bond. West is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing in court next week to answer these charges.
