HARDY, Ky. — No one was seriously injured in a single-car accident on Hardy Mountain Friday afternoon.

According to Kentucky State Trooper Jimmy Nolte, 30-year-old John New of Peter Fork in McCarr was traveling north on St. Hwy. 319 when he lost control of the 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer he was driving.

The vehicle crossed the centerline and came to rest on its top, and was a total loss.

New was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle; it was not believed his injuries were life threatening.

No citations were issued in the accident.

In addition to Kentucky State Police, the Belfry Volunteer Fire Department responded on scene.
