FORT GAY, W.Va - Led by a spectacular 27 point performance by Kara Pollinger, the Tolsia Lady Fighting Rebels defeated the Poca Dots by a 28 point margin, 62 to 34 in the Class AA Region 4 Regional Tournament.

The Lady Fighting Rebels (LFR) raced out to a 16 to 8 lead over the Lady Dots and from there never really had to look back.

At the end of the 2nd period the score was 26 to 13 in favor of the LFR.

The second half of play saw very little narrowing of the lead even though the Dots’ offense did seemingly get back on track. The LFR came back to outscore the Dots by only two in the third quarter by a score of 12 to 10.

But then in the fourth quarter, the Lady Rebels offensively roared back to life, scoring 21 total team points in the frame against only 11 put up by Poca. That insured a Rebel win locking them into this week’s Girls State Tournament in Charleston.

Pollinger led all scorers with her 27 followed by an 18 point performance by Tolsia’s Karli Purvis. Brittany Sayre led the Dots with 12 points in the game.
