LOGAN, W.Va - Ten years ago, Tug Valley High’s boys basketball team ran the gamut from the sectional tournament all the way to a WV Class AA Boys Basketball State Title. Now, the Panthers are looking to commemorate that state title by bringing home another. If they continue to play as they did against Scott, the rest of the field need beware.

The Panthers used their inside muscle and smooth outside perimeter shooting to secure a 54 to 44 win over the Scott Skyhawks to gain the 2009 sectional title.

The Panthers inside - outside trio of Austin Brewer, Michael Evans and Channing Preece proved to be more than the Skyhawks could handle as the Panthers used a dominant fourth period to come away with the win.

The Panthers now prepare to host the 15 - 9 Poca Dots Wednesday night for a part of the regional co-championship and the right to move on to Charleston and the State Tournament.
