HUNTINGTON – A Kermit resident has won the coveted title of Mr. Marshall for 2012.

Rusty Sartin, a junior nursing major and graduate of Tug Valley High School, was introduced at halftime of Saturday’s game at Joan C. Edwards Stadium.

Stephen “J.R.” Sheppard, a first-year exercise physiology graduate student from Delbarton, W.Va., was also one of the three candidates.

Zachary Morris, who is a junior public relations major from Montgomery, W.Va., was the third candidate.

Sartin is the son of Buddy and Beverly of Kermit and the grandson of Anna Mae Sartin Wellman, a town council member.

Rusty is a Dean’s List student at Marshall.

Leslie Thomas was crowned Miss Marshall 2012 during the homecoming football game against Tulsa on Saturday.

Unfortunately, Tulsa won the game 45-38.
