WHARNCLIFFE – The 18^th annual Tug Valley Mining Institute Everett Thompson Memorial Golf Classic is scheduled for Monday, August 20 at Twisted Gun Golf Course at Wharncliffe.

The tournament starts at 10 a.m. The single fee entry costs $100, while the foursome entry fee is $375.

The organization is also looking for tee and green sponsorships, which will help toward the scholarship fund. Donations for the fund are also being accepted.

This golf event is one of the most important civic activities the organization has. The tournament is the main source of funding for the group’s scholarship fund.

There is a limit of 108 golfers, but the TVMI is not limited in scholarship sponsors. All of the money raised goes toward the scholarship fund.
