Cordella “Dale” Hatfield, 75, of Newtown, departed this life on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at the Williamson Memorial Hospital of Williamson.
She was born on November 30, 1936, in Newtown, a daughter of the late Simon and Sarah Daniels Hatfield.
In addition to her parents, Dale is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Floyd and Easter Hatfield; maternal grandparents William “Bud” and Emma Blankenship Daniels; sisters Eleanor Hall, Vada Hatfield McCoy, and Annie Ferrell Hunt; nephew Andy Simon Chafin; great-nephew Barry Allen Chafin; great-great-niece Gracie Lynn Chafin; and niece-in-law Angie Chafin.
In addition to being a loving mother, sister, aunt, friend, and neighbor, Dale was a homemaker.
She leaves to honor her loving memory and mourn her passing daughter Elaine “Bunky” Hatfield of Newtown; brother in law Clark Chafin; sister Dorothy Hatfield Chafin; nephews Teddy (Angie) Chafin of Ashley, Ohio; Rodney (Misty) Justice of Newtown, Ohio; David (Sandy) Chafin of Newtown; Carl (Georgia) of Clarksburg; nieces Dinah (George) Hall of Loving, Texas; Linda (Don) Snodgrass of Vermillion, Ohio; Dottie (Darrell) Bowens of Pikeville, Ky.; Debbie (Bucky) Smith of Grundy, Va., and a host of other nieces and nephews.
She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Honoring services will be conducted Monday, July 23, at the Newtown Pentecostal Church of Newtown, at 1 p.m. with the Revs. Randy Casey and Dave Stratton officiating. Burial will follow at the Floyd Hatfield Family Cemetery of Double Camp, Newtown. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will begin receiving friends on Saturday, July 21, and Sunday, July 22, at the church beginning at 6 p.m. with services nightly at 7 p.m.
