PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The University of Pikeville has added two players to its men’s basketball family.

Coach Kelly Wells and his staff have announced the additions of Greg Magee and Colt Chapman for the 2012-13 season.

Magee is a 6-7 junior from Clarksville, Tenn. He comes to Pikeville from Columbia State (Tenn.) Community College.

As a sophomore, he posted averages of 8.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game while helping lead Columbia State (21-6) to NJCAA Region 7 regular season and post season championships, including the Chargers first trip to the NJCAA National Tournament in 34 years.

This season Magee was named a Second-Team All-NJCAA Region 7 as well as MVP of the Region 7 tournament. Magee also led the Chargers to a first-round victory in the NJCAA National Tournament by scoring 18 points and grabbing 10 rebounds against Gordon (Ga.) College.

Chapman is a 6-5 freshman from Jackson, Ohio. He had a successful prep career at Jackson City High School.

Chapman finished his senior season with averages of 21.5 points, 10.4 rebounds, two assists, and 2.6 steals per contest. Chapman was a two-time SEOAL selection, two-time All-District 13 performer, as well as 2012 District 13 Player of the Year.

As a senior, Chapman scored 37 points and grabbed 16 rebounds against eventual Division 3 State Runner-Up Portsmouth High School and was selected to play in the Ohio North-South All-Star Game.
