Myrtle Wilson Catron, 66 of Turkey Creek, Ky. passed away Monday morning, June 11, 2012 at the Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born January 26, 1946 at Asheville, NC the daughter of the late Clyde and Mabel Clay Wilson. She was also preceded in death by a neice, Wendy Hazelett.
Myrtle was retired from the Mingo County Board of Education having taught school at Tug Valley High School, Williamson and Burch Middle Schools and several other schools. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Williamson, WV.
Survivors include a son, James Harmon Catron of Knoxville, TN; daughters, Laura Catron Wallace of Turkey Creek, Ky. and Alison (Allen) Parsley of Inez, KY; brother, Leo (Carol) Marcum of Inez, KY; sisters, Barbara Jean Wilson (Darrell) Woods of Petersburg, VA and Paula Wilson Smith of Johns Creek, KY; grandchildren, Gage Wallace, Cole Thacker, Cameron Blackburn, Jesse Thacker, Ethan Blackburn, Gia Catron Hodges, Nina Catron Hodges and Clay Allen Parsley; special nephew, Eric Wilson Woods of Disputanta, VA and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church, Williamson, WV with Rev. Vaughn Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Warfield Cemetery, Warfield, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held after 6 PM Tuesday and Wednesday at the Funeral Home Chapel. R. E.
