DELBARTON - Delbarton Mayor John Preece says the town’s sanitation is moving forward, with a new project in the works.
“We are slightly less than halfway through the construction of the upgrades to our current system,” Preece said. “We have had no major problems, funding is on schedule, things are moving right along.”
The project will upgrade service to current customers and about 100 new customers, Preece said, bringing the total to 500 that will be served. The projected completion date for the upgrades is late November of this year.
In addition, the Delbarton City Council recently voted to move forward with a new system that will reach from Delbarton to Ragland, over three miles. That will add 277 additional customers.
Delbarton is experiencing a bit of a construction boom, with a new bridge and two new homes being built in town.
“We are in good shape,” Preece said. “We have a lot of good people working hard in Delbarton. We are excited.”
