STOP, DHHR to hold substance abuse training

The Strong Through Our Plan (STOP) Coalition and the Mingo County Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) will host a training focusing on prescription drug abuse, synthetic drug abuse such as synthetic marijuana and synthetic cocaine otherwise known as bath salts and methamphetamine.

The free training will be held Friday, June 1 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Williamson Fire Department, 104 East Fourth Ave.

The training is open to the public and will also offer free social work continuing education units, law enforcement training hours and EMT contact hours. Lunch will also be provided.
