GOODY, Ky. - The Belfry Pirates are currently 20-7 on the season and will travel to Knott County this evening as the regular season winds down.
The Pirates of coach Michael Hagy will play host to East Ridge Monday for a regular season game. The final regular season game of the season will be at home on Thursday, May 17 against Lawrence County. All of those games are scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.
Belfry High School will host the 60th District tourney starting on Monday, May 21. Pike Central playing Phelps, with Belfry taking on the winner.
Currently the Pirates have the best record in the 15th Region. Prestonsburg is next in line with a 19-10 record, followed by Johnson Central at 18-6 and Pikeville, also 18-6.
Hagy has several seniors who are having outstanding seasons. They include Tyler Williams, Jared Masters, Howie Dotson and Keagan Fields. Several underclassmen have also contributed. They include juniors Zack Francisco, Madison Ghormley, Eli Huddle and Sean Hurley.
Sophomores Reed Williamson, Joey Duty, Zach Fields and Cameron Johnson have also seen plenty of action.
Hagy hopes his team continued to play well and improve heading toward the post season.
